Dots and Boxes

Dots and Boxes is the perfect combination of simple rules and deep strategies that we all love. Here's how it works: You and your opponent take turns drawing lines between points on the grid. Complete a block to claim it and continue taking turns. Does that sound easy? Wait until you want to be smarter than everyone else while protecting your territory! When the grid is filled, the player with the most boxes wins. Perfect for developing spatial reasoning - teachers even use it in class!Become a boxing champion

Becoming a Box Champion

  • Settings

Choose your grid size - start learning with 3x3 and then try a larger grid, like 5x5, for a real challenge. These points form the angles of the potential box.

  • Your Mission

Claim the box by connecting the fourth side. For every box you seal, you get one point and another turn. Be careful - smart players will use your moves against you!

  • It's Your Turn

Draw a horizontal or vertical line for each turn. Pro tip: Sometimes it's best to avoid completing a box immediately in order to control the flow of the game.Box capture When you close a square, put your initials in it. If adjacent boxes can be claimed, this sets off a chain reaction - experienced players can get multiple boxes per turn!

  • Winning Strategy

Control the middle early, force the opponent to make "sacrifice" moves, and always look for the opponent's moves to provide you with multiple box opportunities.

  • Game Over

When all possible lines have been drawn, count the boxes! If it's a tie, the real winner is the one having the most fun… But we both know you want high marks!
